CGCircuit - Discovering Houdini Vellum 4
https://www.cgcircuit.com/tutorial/discovering-houdini-vellum-4

Hi everyone; I'm Arsen Margaryan and I'm very excited to show you the 4th part of one big project called Discovering Houdini Vellum, which is all about vellum grains and vellum fluids, and this is probably the most fun and juicy part of this big project. This lesson is a follow-up of the previous series, and I strongly suggest you watch it only after you master the previous vellum series. Now some details about this lesson. We will explore in depth all the properties related to them, and also do many interesting and practical tasks that will greatly improve your toolbox since the Vellum is one system where all types can interact with each other, and by adding sand and liquid to this system, you can already do crazy things, which are almost impossible to do without a Vellum. I also want to say, that the concept of vellum itself is such that it can be endlessly expanded, in terms of adding new types of simulations, as well as new constraints for more control and so on, which developers are already doing successfully. So I strongly urge everyone to study vellum in detail since there is a huge potential there, and all these four series I have made will greatly help you in this matter because they cover a large amount of these vast capabilities.

Hello everyone, my name is Arsen Margaryan, and I am very glad to introduce you to the third part of the series Discovering Houdini Vellum, which is a logical continuation of the second series.

So, This time, the main focus is on the vellum's powerful soft bodies and all the adjacent constraints.
To be more clear, let me list each of them. So, in detail will study the vellum strut constraint, pressure constraint, tetrahedral stretch constraint, tetrahedral volume constraint, and tetrahedral fiber constraint.
We will carefully analyze all the details about them, on specific examples without any exception, as I did in the previous series.
In addition to soft bodies, we will also study the vellum rest blend and reference frame nodes in detail, and throughout the entire lesson, we will perform interesting and practical tasks that you can often encounter.
So, I hope you enjoy the lesson and wish you a good viewing.

Hello everyone! my name is Arsen Margaryan, and I am glad to present to you the second part of my tutorial dedicated to Houdini Vellum, which is a logical continuation of the first part, so I strongly recommend watching it only after viewing the first volume.
Well, now I want to briefly describe the content of this lesson.
So, throughout this tutorial, we will take a detailed look at the vellum hair constraint, attach to geometry, stitch points, glue, weld, and finally the shape match constraint.
Since the base of this tutorial is the official documentation, we will study all the properties with respect to these constraints without any exception, similar to the documentation, and we will consider all this on specific examples, as I already did in the first volume.
I will also teach you many ways to manipulate these constraints using simple vex expressions.
In fact, these two volumes contain a huge amount of material regarding Houdini vellum, which I hope will come in handy in your future projects.

I am excited to introduce to you my new tutorial, which is dedicated to Houdini vellum.

What can be said about vellum? So, After the vellum was implemented in Houdini, it has become a much more powerful and self-contained program, as it expanded the list of Houdini's capabilities to perform many types of simulations, namely cloth, hair, soft-body, and grains.

Of course, before that, it was also possible to perform such kinds of tasks, but vellum has revolutionized these areas, and introduced a new approach to solving such tasks, and brought enormous potential.

CGCircuit - Applied Houdini Rigids 6
https://www.cgcircuit.com/course/applied-houdini---rigids-vi
In Rigids VI, we'll learn how to create fast, stable, and easily art directable chains that can be used for all kinds of situations. Common pitfalls of naive approaches will be discussed, while demonstrating advanced constraint chaining, positioning, and orienting techniques to overcome them. Once created, we'll strategically break both the chain links and their constraints as well. Other topics include creating and understanding a hinge constraint, having a bunch of coins fall out of the safe, and some fun approaches to making magical lighting and particle effects! And as always, a whole bunch of production-ready tips and tricks to streamline the whole process will be implemented as well.
Applied Houdini is a production quality oriented series created by Steven Knipping (vimeo.com/161576184), currently a Senior Rigid Body Destruction / FX Technical Director at Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rogue One, A Star Wars Story, Star Wars: The Force Awakens). Benefit from production proven workflows while also getting an in depth explanation of why things works they way they do. Best of all - each video is crammed with actual information and footnotes instead of gratuitous talking and dead space!

CGCircuit – Applied Houdini – Rigids II – v2.0

https://www.cgcircuit.com/tutorial/applied-houdini---rigids-ii-version-2.0

Applied Houdini is back with a huge upgrade to one of my most popular tutorials, Rigids II – Structure Destruction! In this lesson we’re going to procedurally model a building that takes advantage of geometry instancing in order to create a super memory efficient and detailed rigid body simulation that is still art directable! This beautiful concrete and glass building will be held together with a custom constraint system, and then blown up over and over again when we run a bunch of simulations using Houdini’s new Procedural Dependency Graph (or PDG) workflow. These “wedges” will use TOPs nodes to run sims at the same time, render previews, burn in text, and even create final movies on disk that we can use to make decisions about our sim settings. Once we converge on a simulation that we like, we’ll shade, light, and render it in Mantra – but also as a bonus, I’ll show you how to optimally import our result into Solaris as well, using LOPs to bring our still instanced-enabled geometry over to USD so we can render our building collapse in Karma. There’s a lot to learn and love in this new update, and I hope you have fun exploring all the new ways making detailed destruction in Houdini is better than ever!

Applied Houdini - Liquids IV
https://www.cgcircuit.com/course/applied-houdini---liquids-iv

Applied Houdini Liquids IV - Fluid Interaction is here to show you how to control a complex liquid simulation using the Vellum Solver. We'll combine various ingredients with unique physical properties into a big bowl of ramen in order to show off the kind of interaction that Vellum makes possible. For each of them, we'll go over the external forces and internal properties that enable realistic physical behavior as well as enable art direction. And as usual we'll dive deep into how the simulation actually works, so that we can solve issues with buoyancy, collisions, simulation stability, rendering and a whole lot more. We'll finish up by processing our results into nice looking geometry and rendering in Karma, paying particular attention to capturing the soupy look of the ramen broth. Start making sophisticated liquid simulations now, with Applied Houdini Liquids IV - Fluid Interaction!  Applied Houdini is a production quality oriented series created by Steven Knipping (imdb.com/name/nm3725241/), who has worked as a Senior Rigid Body Destruction / FX Technical Director at Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic on films including Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, Avengers: Endgame, and Space Jam 2. http://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/MGKJo/creating-a-painted-wood-material-in-substance-painter

In this tutorial we will go over creating a Painted Wood Material in Substance Painter. We will make use of different features of Substance Painter to create this Smart Material. You can use this material on any your project or model. We will start by adding a Base Layer of Wood and then we will build further upon that adding different layers to make the material more realistic. We will add a Paint Layer and add some scratches and damages to it to give the material a better feel. We will finish the material by adding some Dust layers and Roughness Variation. At last we will learn to create a Smart Material out of all this and then we will try adding this material onto a different model and try to customize the look of it.

In Blender, stacking blocks is a serious art form! A voxel is just like a pixel but with three dimensions instead of two, and building scenes with them results in a really fun style that has been made popular by things like Lego and Minecraft. This course will show you how to make the most of that style by speeding up your snapping, converting meshes with the remesh modifier, and adding extra pixel detail through the use of a shader.
