- Studio ARTE produced three parts of this project called Contacts. The idea of the project, if I may say so, to show the connection (exposed) photo-artist with a photo, give everyone the opportunity to comment on the photographer to his work. The uniqueness of the film that did not show a picture, and often the entire series of images, of which only one frame later is found to be (named), a brilliant, unique, unique, etc. In this film you can see what is the work of the photographer - to prepare a frame of mind or a place to try, to experiment, to wait, to anticipate. And all for the sake of the dozens of great photos to choose the most-most.
Part 1: The best traditions of photojournalism / Vol. 1: The Great Tradition of Photojournalism
Part Contacts combines the stories of photographers working in the genre of photojournalism. One of the most famous of the list of artists Helmut Newton . The man who managed to work with nudes, but to create something entirely more powerful than just erotica. Hellmuth talks about some of the most famous of his pictures: Naked and Dressed, Self-Portrait with Wife and Model. These images are widely known, but the film shows and other pictures from this series. And the artist himself explains how the idea evolved during a snapshot of the work itself. Or the story about the photo shoot, which occurred spontaneously on the street late at night a little old town. Originally planned to make normal Helmut shot with his assistant. What happened next can be seen in the screenshot Other photographers presenting their views on the process of creating brilliant images: William Klein, Henri Cartier-Bresson , Raymond Depardon, Mario Giacomelli, Josef Koudelka, Robert Doisneau, Edouard Boubat, Elliot Erwitt, Marc Riboud, Leonard Freed , and Don McCullin .
Part 2: The Revival of Modern Photo / Vol. 2: The Renewal of Contemporary Photography
The main idea of the project is to show the viewer not just photos of the author, but also to listen to him, telling about her life, about the global matters, giving the author of inspiration, and emotional experiences of the line of his work, some of the biographical facts of life of the master, and immediately the main thing - an individual creative process. Movies are accompanied by not just showing some photographs, negatives, but it is often a demonstration of the photographer (check prints), with a series of doubles, where the author is his story about the shooting, about their thoughts and feelings at that moment, the choice of one single photograph, which will be the end result of a series of . As part of the movie is the voice of the author, in another - the curator of the photographer, art, or sometimes the announcer reading the text from the first person. Do not have any specific pattern, in which filmed. Each of them is different, as the authors represented in the project. In this part of the 11 photographers represented by: Nan Goldin , Sophie Calle, Duane Michals, Sarah Moon, Nobuyoski Araki, Andreas Gursky, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Thomas Ruff, Lewis Baltz, Jean-Marc Bustamante, and Jeff Wall .
Part 3: Conceptual Photography / Vol.3: Conceptual Photography
The main idea of the project belongs to William Klein , and is to show the viewer not just photos of the author, but also to listen to him, telling about her life, about the global matters, giving the author of inspiration, and emotional experiences of the line of his work, some of the biographical facts of life of the master, and just about the main thing - an individual creative process. Movies are accompanied by not just showing some photographs, negatives, but it is often a demonstration of the photographer - the so-called test prints, working material with a series of doubles, where the author is his story about the shooting, about their thoughts and feelings at that moment, the choice of one single photograph, which will be the end result of the series. As part of the movie is the voice of the author, in another - the curator of the photographer, art, or sometimes the announcer reading the text from the first person. Do not have any specific pattern, in which filmed. Each of them is different, as the authors represented in the project. All three issues will be of interest not only photographers, but any enthusiastic creative people, because what exactly is the certain knowledge is not required fotogragrafii technology, movies are designed for a broad audience.
