A quick look in any artist’s sketchbook shows that ‘sketching’ is not limited to contour lines.  Most sketches also include an indication of light and shadow - giving them body and definition.  Even though our 'sketchbook' is digital, no exploration of sketching would be complete without tone. “Simple Shading” demonstrates a workflow that balances speed and precision, taking queues from traditional grayscale markers (a favorite among industrial designers.)
