In this class, I will be teaching you about everything that you need to know to begin your oil painting journey. Oil paint is a great medium because it is versatile and creates some of the best and most timeless artwork in the world. 

You will learn about:

Taking a great reference photo: You will learn how to Take great reference photos to have the easiest time trying to create exactly what you are aiming for.

Setting up Your Workspace: I will show you a demonstration workspace and show you all of the tools that I use to make your painting area the most suitable.

Mixing Color: I instruct you on how to mix color using a palette of 5 key colors to mix almost any range of colors.

Brushes: I describe to you the main three types of brushes that I use to create different marks.

The 3D Form: I show you how to create dimension when painting in oils to make your subject stand out from the surface and prevent it from falling flat.

Materials you will need are:

Paints: Ultramarine blue/French ultramarine, Cadmium red, Cadmium yellow light/Cadmium lemon, Burnt umber, and Titanium white.

Brushes: Various sizes and varieties of Flat, Filbert, and, Round brushes.

Cotton or Linen Canvas or Panels.

Paint thinner/Brush cleaner and also Brush soap and Leak proof container.

Disposable or non disposable palette.

Liquin original.
