WAV | 248.74 MB
Found Sound Nation presents this sample pack of assorted Afro-Cuban percussion, played by composer and drummer Degnis Bofill. Performed on bongo, conga and quinto, a high pitched drum associated with rumba, this collection features a mix of elaborate deep pocket rhythms, frenetic improvised fills, and intricate textures. Recorded on location at Estudio King in Havana, this pack draws from traditional Cuban music, as well as contemporary jazz.
Degnis Bofill is a Cuban drummer, vocalist, and composer based in Havana. Degnis has toured alongside Latin music luminaries like Arturo O’Farrill, Orlando Valle “Maraca” and Néstor Torres. Degnis also leads his own group, Golpes Libres, which combines traditional latin music with modern fusion, detailed arrangements and global rhythms, and works as a music educator and organizer.
