Characterized by a fusion of deep house, jazz, Kwaito, and Afrobeat elements, “Amapiano” loosely translates to “the pianos” in Zulu. The continuous piano melodies, deep bass, a touch of jazz, and Zulu rhythms set the Amapiano sound apart from other African Pop genres. For this Signal Path release, producer and DJ Blaq Pages acted as Executive Producer, gathering several collaborators at Sound Factory LA to lay down some Amapiano foundations while adding their own zest. You'll find synths and keys, wide percussive basslines, high-pitched piano melodies, low tempo 1990s South African house rhythms, and more. Musicians featured on this pack include SOKO7, Joshua Denńa, Gianluca Gibbons, and Kayomusiq.
