This type family is inspired by the different kind of flowers belonging to the Orobanchaceae family. Thus the different style’s names, Masuria, Hermonthica & Elegans. These are the parasitic plants which bring woe to whole farming cultures. Beautifully shaped in their wide variety of colours and forms. The font-family takes a deep fall into this inspiring varity of plants to extract some of their very details and mix them into letter-forms.
The shapes are balanced with various kind of weight pressed along the ductus: linking the glyphs design to an historical hand-style writing. The layout’s optical grey is dancing—like flowers being blown by the wind—the different styles of the family go from an optically adjusted text version (Masuria) to a Display (Hermonthica) and a strong Headline (Elegans).
The matching true italics of each styles will bring a strong presence within text layouts by breaking the rythmin of the optical grey.
An elegant type family with enough spine and thorns in its design to completely bring up a strong identity within any design it is applied to.
