Arges was one of the cyclopes who helped forge Zeus’s renown lightning. Arges is like thunder: raining down from ascenders to descenders through its capitals and base line, striking upon the layout with a force to reckon with.
Inspired by the famous Cyclope who helped forge Zeus’ weapon, It is extremely condensed, extremely black. The font’s eye is narrow, the shapes balance between round and squarred angles. It comes in two styles with their obliques for a total of four (4) fonts: Black Condensed/Oblique Extreme Black Condensed/Oblique. The Black Condensed version stems are bolder than the Extreme version. However the Extreme version sidebearing balance has been adjusted to spread darker text layouts. These optical corrections give a very consistant grey to the point it can even blacken a page, almost turning text display abstract images. This typeface family is meant to strike heavily and it does its job quite well when displayed in large size. We recommand you not to use it under 30pt unless you want to experiment extreme abstract text-image designs. Arges is meant to burst on layouts and works quite well when used on headlines and titles. It works surprisingly well when displayed with other sans.
