Motora Sans Font Family 18 Fonts - Hubert Jocham €702
https://www.hubertjocham.de/shop/type/sans/MotoraSans/
Many of my typefaces like Narziss and Mommie and also NewLibris or Verse are rather feminine.
- With Motora Sans we wanted to be the opposite. Masculine with a smell of gasoline and sweat. Technical and angular. Strong and self-confident.
- The weights are laid out in the usual way we create my families. 9 weights up to a strong UltraBold, all with italics.
- What was the inspiration for designing the font? A typeface you would long for in a men’s magazine.
- What are its main characteristics and features? Legible constructed sans serif with German industrial and heritage.
- Usage recommendations: Corporate branding and magazines and other publications.

Madita Font Family 6 Fonts - Hubert Jocham €234

Konsens Font Family 18xOTF - Hubert Jocham €702
https://www.hubertjocham.de/shop/type/sans/Konsens/
- Germany has got a strong heritage of industrial typefaces. These fonts feel like being constructed by engineers. The shapes look like they have been built with circles and squares. DIN Mittelschrift is one very famous example, or the font on the old german car numberplates. Since the »Romain du Roi« we know that it is tricky to draw a geometrical typeface. For optical reasons you have to go away from circles and lines with exactly one weight.
- Therefore the aime is not to construct a typeface but to draw it the way it feels constructed finally. As you can see on the picture, the final typeface is not constucted at all. The design of a typeface is like stage production. Like stongly made up acters the characters of a typeface must be superrelevated, to be very clear in there seeming. Particularly in small sizes. Konsens has got 9 weights from Light to Ultrabold with italics like most of my other families. In addition to that, there is a Stencil headline companion. It also has got 9 weights but no italics.
Mommie Brush Font Family 3xOTF - Hubert Jocham €117
https://www.hubertjocham.de/shop/type/script/MommieBrush/
- MommieBrush is a brush script headline typeface. It is based on the Spencerian Mommie that won the 2008 TDC award. But as a brush script it works in a different area. Like my other brush script typefaces it is made for food packaging and product branding.
- In the early 1980s, at the start of my career, I had the opportunity to work in a print shop with classic lead setting. In those days I would study issues of U&lc magazine from ITC. What really caught my attention were scripts in the Spencerian style. I’ve been fascinated by this American penmanship tradition ever since.
- A few years ago I developed a font. Boris Bencic used it when he was redesigning L’Officiel magazine in Paris. I took these initial forms and developed them into the font Mommie when I started my own foundry. Although I usually design text typefaces, working on Mommie taught me how complex it can be to create a script headline font. The biggest challenge in this process has been to keep it alive and fresh.
- The Regular weight is only made for very big headlines. The thin lines with the bold drops are very elegant. For smaller sizes use the Medium and Small weight.
- It won the TDC 2008 award and was Judges Choice of Christian Schwartz.
Glenda Font Family 2xOTF - Hubert Jocham €78
http://www.hubertjocham.de/shop/type/script/Glenda/
- Glenda is again an italic script like Mommie. In the Regular the characters join and it looks like a neatly written sprencerian handwriting. But like Narziss it has got a Swirls version too. Every glyph and swirl is carefully designed to work in every connection. Use Glenda at only very large sizes.
- Airy is in fact a very light-minded summer font without any serious design concept. It is a collection of hand-drawn letters that with the help of OpenType features allow you to get a lace texture with mutable structure. Together with the font you also get a bonus — a set of naive pictures that you normally draw on the margins of your sketchbook.

Back to 1880-1900 when a number of events were coming together, the country was evolving from a local market economy to mass merchandising, rail systems were being built and color lithography was becoming more affordable. The first rail cars full of oranges were being shipped from Southern California to the East - what a treat during a cold winter’s day. Labels were pasted on every fruit crate and these labels had large images of oranges and orange groves. With technological advances in soldered cans, canneries popped up all over the country. In order to market their products many California Canneries pooled their resources to form the California Fruit Canners Assn. in 1899. This font was inspired from that era. Loaded with alternates, swashes, stylistic and multilingual support.

- Mixing the vertical to horizontal stroke weight ratio of a sans-serif font while adding serifs is the idea that inspired this face.
- The result is a typeface with unique display features that is also quite readable at text sizes.
Distill - Futuristic Font Family 12xOTF $129 | Designers: Matt Desmond, Theo van Doesburg
http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/madtype/distill/
- Distill draws its inspiration mainly from Theo van Doesburg’s De Stijl era lettering. The type he designed for the Aubette Café, De Stijl Magazine, etc was used as a starting point and then expanded upon.
- While this typeface was inspired by historical references, it also has the ability to invoke a contemporary feel under the right conditions. Distill will work hard whether you are designing a neo-constructivist poster or a futuristic website.
- Distill is a family of 12 fonts: 4 weights, each containing condensed, regular, and expanded widths. It also features several alternate characters.
