Bello is a brush typeface for headline point sizes - it’s big & beautiful. Bello has lots of ligatures and start and ending swashes. They are automatic in Bello Pro, which is a cross-platform OpenType font with many OpenType features.Bello is also available in normal TrueType flavoured OpenType format for PC and PostScript Type 1 format for Mac. Bello has an extended European character set (WE+CE).After a period of hand sketching and lettering, we decided to give Bello two main styles: script and small caps. These two fonts create a strong typographic contrast - while Bello Script is flourished and flowing, Bello Small Caps are upright and sturdy. As sturdy as brush lettering allows for, of course.Careful spacing and kerning ensures that Bello appears like fluently written handwriting. However, that’s not enough for a hand-lettered feel. Therefore Bello comes with a set of 64 ligatures. Some of them are typographic, some made simply to create a more intimate, natural impression. For the same reasons we have added a few ornaments and a set of snap-on beginning and ending swashes which attach to the lowercase letters of Bello.Bello Pro is an OpenType font (.otf) which combines all Bello fonts into one sophisticated font. Bello Pro contains Advanced Layout Features, which makes it for example easy to automatically implement all the ligatures of Bello. But there is more to Bello Pro. SmallCaps are included in the same font, it’s possible to automatically replace the oldstyle figure style with lining figures, etc. And if you wanna hit Bello Pro hard, you can even automatically replace some words in your text by the pre-designed word logotypes.

Linotype Zootype - Animal Heads Peek into the Letters 8xOTF $632

Zootype –the first original single font– was designed in 1997 by Victor Garcia of Argentina and as a winner of Linotype’s Second International Type Design Contest is included in the TakeType Library. The three additional family styles –Zootype Air, Zootype Land, Zootype Water– were added in 1999. In the words of the designer, the design concept is meant to display the ?funny, happy joy of animal nature.’ Animal heads peek into the block forms of the letters, giving the font a unique whimsical character.
From what we can tell, Justus Erich Walbaum probably never intended to create a sans-serif typeface. However, it’s difficult to find an appropriate sans- counterpart to the serifed Walbaum, which would share the same austere german feeling, vertical proportions, matching features and multi-lingual capability with the latest Walbaum 2010 Pro.In spite of the serifed inspiration, our Grotesk has remarkably raised x-height for stronger appearance and slightly condensed drawing which improves its stand-alone use. It is perfectly aligned with the new Walbaum 2010 Pro series. The palette of weights is richer on the Grotesk side, since the serifed nature didn’t allow such kinky interpolation. Indeed, it’s usable separately as well as loud, inconspicuous, yet spicy poster typeface.

Okay let’s be honest, we knew during development that the snowflake has a pretty limited lifespan in the current designer’s toolkit. You know…the generic holiday season promos, office party potluck flyers, ski resort brochures, Severe Weather Team Snowmageddon forecasts and the after-Halloween-forget-Thanksgiving-pre-Christmas-on-fire-doorbusting-everything-must-go-riot-inducing-extravaganza sales. But here at AKOFAType, our thought was that a snowflake can look better than your average sad mutated asterisk that is pretty prevalent in the design landscape as well as have the ability to [fancy word alert!] transcend the limited design shelf-life of two to six months out of the year…but don't worry, you will still be able to use them for that yearly “Christmas in July” sales flyer that your client will need ASAP…
But you may be saying to yourself, "These snowflakes are f#$%in' awesome!!!…But how about more variety?"
Well, we didn't just stop with the 82 distinct snowflake patterns without thinking about versatility for you the designer. With that concern in mind, you also get the added power of OpenType to extend the range of these glyphs with circular and hexagonal alternates at the click of a mouse. So, if you are working with an HVAC company and the snowflake in the logo needs a little “Umph!”…choose from one of many circular alternates or if a holiday card project is not "techno-hip-geometric enough"…BOOM! A hexagonal alternate will soothe the art director and save the day. The possibilities are almost limitless! Flurry from the AKOFAType Utility Series…fonts working smarter so you don't have to work harder.
FHA Condensed French Font Family

- One could speculate that FHA Condensed French probably started life as wood type for displays, headlines and posters. The exaggerated sharp serifs and condensed forms were not uncommon for that period. At some point, sign painters picked up Condensed French added their own character. At the end of the nineteenth century, Frank H. Atkinson included Condensed French in his samples of lettering for his book, ”Sign Painting, A Complete Manual.” This book became one of the definitive guides for signwriting and hand lettering. In 1999, Mike Adkins digitized Condensed to add to our Atkinson collection. For its re-release, Condensed French has been updated with more language support, ligatures, and OpenType alternates. It has true vintage character but still plays well in more modern designs. A font for all seasons, the condensed forms and sharp serifs fit in every layout from wildwest days posters and creepy film credits to Christmas ads and Mother’s Day cards. While I can’t really see FHA Condensed French as the font for phone aps or video game text, it will provide impact to logos, branding, and product labeling.

The idea was to create a package containing prominent tag styles of graffiti strongholds like New York, Berlin and Paris. Shik (New York), Deon (Paris) and Etan (Berlin) came together to show the typical tag styles of their respective metropolitan areas. The fonts were digitized, spaced, kerned and programmed by Hannes von Döhren. The Subway Types are highly equipped. Each one consists of 4 alphabets (Uppercase, Lowercase, Small Caps & Swash). They also include ligatures and some specials like underlines and a huge range of accents for a wide language support. With the OpenType technology these features can be applied easily. For those who never used the OpenType features, we created the Std (Standard) and the SC (Small Caps) versions of the fonts. They contain the same basic characters like the OT versions but are split in two fonts. Hence you don’t need any OpenType knowledge to use the Std and SC fonts.

Chameleon consists of 16 fonts based on 3 completely different designs. Different but specially designed to complement each other. Together they form a well-balanced design kit suitable for many different projects, e.g. invites, menus, magazines, brochures, packaging, etc.Chameleon comes in three styles: 2 outline versions and a basic (solid) version. Once you start layering different fills, like a true chameleon, you can change colors and patterns. Simply place several layers on top of each other, choose from 7 fills to determine your pattern and assign a color to the fill. Always place one of the outline versions of Chameleon on the top layer.Chameleon Pen was added to give you the possibility to spice up your design with a personal touch. It is a charming handwritten font, which was first written out with a dip pen and ink, then scanned in and digitalized. It comes in regular and italic. And then there is Chameleon Sketch for a bit of nonchalance to add to your designs. The Outline, Hatch and Solid version can be used separately, or stacked to create a shadowy or multi-colored effect. On top of that, you'll find 102 glyphs of extra fun to play with in Chameleon Sketch Extra.

Fairwater Font Family - 18 Fonts
TTF
Fairwater’s aesthetic derives from three sources: the cursive handwriting styles popularized in the early to mid 1900s, the simplified, forgiving letterforms of tattoo lettering – and the pictorial themes that informed early-to-mid 20th-century naval tattoos. The Fairwater family includes two highly legible sans and script faces – friendly, monoline, and casual – in light, regular and bold weights. As with many of her faces, Laura can’t resist adding a plethora of swashes and alternates to the script version – 465 to be exact – for a total of 2,230 glyphs. Fairwater also includes four showier serif faces for use at display sizes, culminating in the the vaguely botanical “Sailor” and elegantly striped “Deco” weights.
Fairwater also includes a powerful decorative font entitled DIY Lines: 250 ornamental characters of ships, anchors, oars, knots, rope, botanicals, diamonds, arrows and more. With strokes and proportions that perfectly complement the type, DIY Lines expands the Fairwater family into a powerful design kit that evokes 20th-century craftsmanship, maritime themes, and colorful, salty personalities.
A beautiful singularity are the very thin in-and-outstrokes accompagnying each letter. This very high contrasted font is less condensed than usual blackletter fonts and has additionally some stencil aspects which makes Blackmoon so singular.
