When I developed Lust, it was my overly indulgent attempt to infuse wanton sensuality in a typeface. I wanted to create something that was over the top and veered away from my loose ‘sushi’ scripts and rigid sans serifs. To do that, it had to be, well, a little sexy. For me. the solution was to create a curvy serif. A serif would be a different endeavor for me since I consciously choose not to do many serifs—because there are so many wonderful options already. Because of this, my approach (and design) had to be different. Here’s how I broke down what I felt it needed to have under the covers to create a ‘lusty’ typeface: Lots of contrast, almost demure, coy contrast mixed with the flowing curves of a woman’s body, incomplete, almost teasing ball terminals, and serifs that went on forever… so sharp they would draw blood if you touched them. Well, mission accomplished. But, while I was finishing Lust, the idea of taking it further, making it, well, sexier took hold. The end result is just more… more experience, more curves, more of everything. It looks good dressed down or in a little black dress. Lust Script plays well with others too…

In 1995, David Berlow cut FB Moderno for Esquire Gentleman and Reforma from a TrueType pole of Giza. In 1996 he cut new styles with Richard Lipton for El Norte. In 1997 Roger Black ordered new weights for Tages Anzeiger. Redesign of Baltimore Sun, with FB Ionic as text, required further growth. The whole series was then revised for Louise Vincent, Montreal Gazette, with further styles added in 2005 for La Stampa.
Among other uses, Moderno FB is recommended for Newspaper, Magazine, Corporate and Custom use.

- It started with an italic, or to be more precise, half an italic. The slanted styles of Urge Text exhibit a certain bipolarity, the tops of glyphs having a standard italic form, the bottoms of glyphs being more Roman in their construction. This sturdy footing really locks the italics to the baseline, making them very legible while still being distinct from the uprights. The same bipolar approach didn't work very well in upright styles, so the Romans are more toned down.Ranging from the almost monoline, Egyptian style light weights to higher contrast ‘Modern’ bolds, there is much potential for use in typographically demanding scenarios. The family consists of six weights, normal and condensed widths, all with italics, making a total of 24 fonts; it’s a highly usable text typeface with an array of OpenType features. All styles include small caps, multiple figure styles (proportional- and tabular-, oldstyle and lining, small cap proportional figures, numerators, denominators, superscript and subscript), standard ligatures, alternate forms (stylistic sets), automatic fractions, case sensitive forms, and a handy (perhaps!) ‘percent off’ ligature in the discretionary ligatures feature. This is Schizotype’s most ambitious release to date, with great language support and mathematical symbols. Urge Text should prove to be a useful addition to your typographic arsenal.

Karmina 4 Fonts Karmina Sans
Karmina is a text typeface developed mainly for pocket books and budget editions. It was built to withstand the worst printing conditions: low quality papers, high printing speed with web presses and variations in the ink level of the printing press.
Karmina Sans follows the steps of its successful award winner cousin, Karmina Serif . It shares the same technical excellence and it achieves similar stylistic features, but the new sans serif version proposes a much more versatile tool for editorial designers.

- The Ingeborg family was designed with the intent of producing a readable modern face. Its roots might well be historic, but its approach is very contemporary.Ingeborg’s Text Weights are functional and discreet. This was achieved without losing the classic characteristics of a Didone typeface, which are the vertical stress and the high contrast. The Display Weights on the other hand are designed to fulfil their job and catch the reader’s eye by individual form language and a whole lot of ink on the paper. Nevertheless both are of one origin and work together in harmony.

Now available as Opentype font with extended character set, Coranto 2. It is originally based on Unger’s typeface Paradox, and arose from a desire to transfer the elegance and refinement of that type to newsprint. Coranto 2 has a larger x-height and in many places has been made more robust.Over the past 25 years newspaper production has seen spectacular improvements in paper and print quality, the introduction of colour printing, and vastly better register. Newspaper production still demands a lot of letter forms, but advanced printing brings out details better and makes typography more appealing to readers. For text type the newspaper is no longer an environment in which survival is the chief assignment.Today, newspapers are not merely a matter of cheap grey paper, thin ink and super-fast rotary printing, and type design no longer has to focus on surviving the mechanical technology and providing elementary legibility. Now there is also room to create an ambience, to give a paper a clearer identity of its own; there is scope for precision and refinement. One consequence of this is that newspaper designers can now look beyond the traditional group of newsfaces. Conversely, a newsface can be used outside the newspaper — not an uncommon occurrence. The update to this beautiful font family, Coranto 2, includes the addition of over 250 glyphs featuring full Latin A language support, new ligatures, 4 sets of numerals, arbitrary fractions and superiors/inferiors. Furthermore, kerning was added and fine tuned for better performance.
