Lenga is a kind of beech originally from South America. The explorers who discovered this beech in Tierra del Fuego, thought it looked like a tree from their home country and named it ‘Lenga’. Like many of southern hemisphere beeches, the Lenga beech is fast growing and hardy, making it an ideal timber tree. It regenerates easily after fires. The wood has good quality, moderate durable, and easy to work. The Lenga fonts were inspired in the nobility, robustness and flexibility of those trees. They have a distinctive personality within contemporary atmosphere. These fonts are quite appropriate for headlines, subheadings and with its text flow works very well for long texts. The "Sachertorte" typeface was created as a result of the Typography course assignment to design our own font at the Tomas Bata University in Zlin (Czech Rep.). I spent the whole semester (Spring 2011)in Vienna as an intern at the Feinblick design studio, so the design of typeface is influenced by the atmosphere of Vienna. It was my effort to create a set of faces suitable for the purpose of display typography, which can induce the modern, elegant look of simplicity inspired by the history. You have just these feelings when you enter the nice cozy coffe shop of Vienna and start cutting the famous Sachertorte.

Grifo is an economic text face designed for magazines. It’s made to save space in long texts and in big, tightly set headlines. The family has three optical sizes: S, for text; M, for titles and L for big headlines. Each of these have five weights from Light to Black, with matching italics. Grifo’s design draws on the extreme hight stroke contrast of the neoclassic types but has bracketed serifs and sharp triangular terminals. Indeed, sharp spikes and hooks are one of grifo’s traits, specially in the L size. It’s full of talon shapes, like the c, e, the bottom curve of the t, or most obviously, commas and quotes. One other distinguishing quality is the prominently rational approach of the shapes, with very hard lines, as if the letters were cut with a scalpel. Vertical strokes all end with abrupt horizontal cuts and the baseline serifs of the letters a, d and u where cut off, to give the alphabet a harder and simplified edge, contributing also to save space. Grifo is the portuguese word for Griffin, the sharp-clawed, half-lion, half-eagle, mythological creature.
