Staat is a high contrast serif, with sharp cuts at the terminals and pointy serifs. Therefore it has a modern look and strong characteristics. Staat comes in Bold & Bold-italic with a basic latin character set (310 glyphs). It has opentype features and a few ligatures to optimise the overall rhythm. The ‘f’ and ‘j’ are intentionally short, so there won’t appear gaps when you will use it on the web. The typeface is spaced & kerned tightly.

Solantra is a solidly crafted handwritten script. I’ve long felt that beautiful writing is more pleasing to the eye than the more attention grabbing swashes and flourishes. That being said, both have their role in design and Solantra has a large slice of each. Solantra combines vintage style handwriting with all its quirks and English Roundhand of that same era. The result is a solid setting script filled with charm and personality. With default Adobe Illustrator settings for Ligatures and Contextual Alternates active, the vintage charm is in full display. Want to add more flair? There are loads of more embellished letters inside the full version. Solantro takes into account how scripts are actually written so that connections from letter to letter are more fluid and rhythmic than the average script font. In natural script/handwriting most letters end at the bottom right and move up to connect with the next. Some letters like o, v, and w, however; end at the top right. Rather than force these letters to dip down and go back up they should ideally connect from that upper right point. This is accomplished through a series of alternate letters and ligatures with extensive contextual feature programming. So, for example, you might get one version of a ligature in the middle of a word and a different one at the beginning or end of that word. Solantra also takes into account another often overlooked feature of natural handwriting. When you write you inevitably pick your pen up from the paper at times. This is often just to reposition the hand, but in the days of writing with dip pens this was also needed to attain a fresh supply of ink. Having these occasional breaks in connections makes the writing less static and more rhythmic.

Guide is a humanist sans for use on traffic signs and wayfinding systems. The family’s four weights range from Regular to Bold and each has a companion italic. Guide’s italics have an 11° angle; the forms of the ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘e’, and ‘p’ are more dynamic in the italic fonts, like ‘true italic’ letters. Each font includes 20 arrow glyphs. The tops of Guide’s uppercase letters and numerals align at the same height; the ascenders rise slightly above this. Guide’s lowercase letters have a large x-height and prominent diacritical marks. Each font includes an alternate single-story ‘g’ and smaller versions of the default arrows in two stylistic sets. There is also a contextual alternates feature that substitutes a shortened ‘f’ before letters with ascenders.

Being a huge fan of all things shimmering and shiny, it was an obvious choice for me to develop a set of Oh So Iridescent foils. There is nothing quite as mesmerizing as a color changing iridescent or opalescent material and I have tried to capture the sparkle in this set of digital assets. What you get:

Queulat Soft is a hybrid font that combines different styles, reflecting charm, freshness and, especially, a strong personality. The font is inspired by Modern and Grotesk styles. The former is shown in some characteristic features such as teardrop terminals, which give the typeface an attractive unique look, making it an ideal choice for logotypes and labelling. The combination of styles can be clearly seen by comparing the Regular with the Alt version. The Regular version is more simple than the Alt one.
