This is a modernized grotesque font family with horizontal terminals, low stroke contrast, enclosed apertures and little line width variation.
Its tall x-height makes the text legible and the spaces between individual letter forms are precisely adjusted to create the perfect typesetting. The Core Sans E Family consists of 9 Weights (Thin, ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, ExtraBold, Heavy, Black) and Italics for each format.

The Sica Family was designed in order to address issues related to technology, while maintaining humanistic forms. Thus, a font with square shapes emerged, but with smooth curves and slightly rounded terminals making it friendly. The family has three widths – condensed, normal and expanded – each of them with six weights and their respective italics, resulting in 36 fonts. With particular details and open shapes that increase legibility, it can be used for both text compositions as well for display sizes. Kewl is the result of being caught in the afterimage of one design project while conceptualizing another one. Just before finishing the final tests on Mrs Blackfort, the first of what became a long series of Charles Bluemlein fonts, some of the letters began morphing differently in my mind. The idea was to go on the heavier and more playful side, but with a South American sign letterer’s twist, rather than just good handwriting. I did some sketching, took some notes, then got busy with other projects. Some of that stuff eventually seeped into Candy Script and, to a lesser extent, the Whomp font. But it was only a matter of time before I got back to the original concept and finished it.Kewl is ideal for food packaging, book and music covers, magazines, and window splashes. When drawing a new font, there is a time when the final form is found – almost – but the curves are not slick and clean yet, that’s what I call the “raw” form. Raw – no sweeteners added! In this family I redefined this moment in type development for the eternally beautiful “Franklin Gothic”. I call the design “Franklin Gothic Raw”. This packet is the semi-serif addition. There never was a Franklin-Gothic with serifs but actually the font lends itself perfectly to a slab-serif. I started with adding a half serif and eventually add a full slab-serif later on.
