This image was the last shot of the evening, so it had a little extra moody feel to it anyway. The focus also wasn't spot on, but I loved the shot. Wanting to save the photo I decided to play with the painterly style. This technique can cover up unintentional flaws, and in this case save an image as well as provide a unique editing style for your clients.
