This image was captured in the forest, in the brightest, harshest light at about 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Instead of searching for the shade, I believe that you should put your subject in the light and learn how to edit your image according to the light. In this image, for example, you will see me tone down the harsh highlights while still maintaining a nice skin color. The final result is a beautiful, light, airy image rather than a harshly lit one.
