Create a mobile UX for high performance that engages users.
Mobile user experience has risen to a level of importance on par with the desktop. Unlike desktop experiences, mobile user experience can also be finicky. It demands high performance and there's more room for error. Good touch interaction patterns are still emerging and only recently being adopted by users. To understand the complexities of these systems, content and service providers require UX designers to document the creation process in way that is readable and useful.
Key Takeaways:
Examine current UI design patterns
Identify tools used to create UX documentation
Examine architectures of mobile systems
Explore usability evaluation methods
Identify issues facing native and web implementations, including hybrid and responsive design
Prepare a mobile strategy
Learn from our instructor, Luke, who got his start out of an English undergrad program managing data in the publishing industry and who soon pursued a masters in Information Science with the ambition to look beyond the 'Whys' of what we know about what we know into the 'Hows.' Currently he is designing native mobile experiences for Yahoo! in NYC. In his spare time he teaches what makes interacting with computers a pleasurable experience and works on his own projects.
