In the world of video-based training, lessons about modeling, surfacing and indirect lighting are common. But lessons about programming are not as common. Programming training is generally quite easy to find in the world of books, although even in books, 3D software programming is not as easy to find. Even then, most of the available books will focus on a specific language or game development. Now, finding audio-video training specific to XSI programming is nothing short of exceptional.
The author is Helge Mathee, wich many of us know as the author of the MindThink Tools, a set of scripts and plugins that greatly enhance the XSI workflow. Helge is known for being a prolific programmer, who developed things like a hair system and a rigid bodies system.... in his spare time, simply because he was not happy with those offered in XSI.
While Helge is the author, the series is narrator by Joe Saltzman, the director of 3DTutorial, who also narrated several of the series distributed by 3DTutorial.
