Do you want to learn how the human mind works?
This course is the first step and teaches you how our brain constructs our reality.
We walk through the world thinking that the things we see are a direct reflection of the world around us. However, decades of research showed that this is NOT true. The reality we see is not a passive recording from our eyes but it is actively constructed by our brain. The problem is that our brain does this unconsciously so that we are not aware of it. This course will teach you how our perception really works and will show you how you can make the hidden processes visible. If you want to understand the human mind, perception is one of the best topics to start and that's why it is the main topic of this course.
What will you learn?
In the first main section, you will learn what our brain is doing outside of our awareness. I don't just want to teach you abstract theories but I want to make you experience how our perception works. I will show you many tricks to expose what your brain is doing and show you where to find more examples in your own life. Sometimes we will literally catch the brain while it is editing your perception. After this section, you will understand how our brain constructs our reality and know where you can make this visible.
In the second section, we will look at the brain and you will learn how the visual system works. You will learn about the conscious and the unconscious pathway, the transition from perception to memory, and the perception-memory loop that gives rise to everything that we see. After this section, you know the general structure in the visual system and where you can experience the different parts in your own perception.
