Improve your Musicianship with the Kodály approach

This is an introductory course for developing your musicianship through singing. The voice is the first instrument because we all have one and it is free! As a result of making the sound ourselves, we can gain more understanding of the musical concepts than making the sound with an external instrument. This course is not a technical singing course, it does not cover vocal techniques. .

The following approach is used in this course:

Listen ---- Sing ----- Play

From singing simple songs, learners will gain a basic understanding of pulse, rhythm and pitch. They will be able to apply their understanding onto their instruments and specifically the piano.

As well as listening skills, this course also introduces reading simple notation and from the stave in solfa. This course does not use letter names.

This course would be suitable for those who has limited musical experience and those who wants to develop their musicianship through singing. It is also suitable for those who wants to improve their sight reading and singing skills.
