Join us at LAFX studios in Hollywood for a series with iconic rock engineer and producer Eddie Kramer! We dive deep into his recording and mixing techniques used on 'The Wind Cries Mary' by Grace Potter – an outstanding cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic that Eddie also engineered in 1967. Kramer begins with an overview of the 70's API console, his hybrid workflow, and the signal routing setup. Outputting from Pro Tools to the desk, he mixes the record from scratch until he is satisfied enough to print on ATR master tape. Aside from sharing every detail of the mix process, Eddie gives insight into the tracking process for capturing vocals, drums, double bass, Hammond organ, piano, and electric guitar.
