In this Coffee Break Course, Daily Mail developer Jason Green will share some of the challenges his team encountered building Milojs, a completely new javascript framework. Milo models are very powerful, but getting them to work required some advanced techniques, including some that many JS devs will tell you never to do! In this case study he'll explore how his team built some of the coolest parts of Milojs, and some of the technical challenges involved.
Not all of the challenges in development are technical, however. Jason will also be looking at some of the interpersonal issues his team faced, and how they resolved disagreements within the team and got new team members up to speed with a custom framework. This is the second course in a series about Milojs, its architecture, and the challenges of building it. In the first course, How We Built the Daily Mail CMS, Jason introduced the framework, explaining the motivations for creating it and demonstrating some of its most powerful features.
