Developing games using HTML5 can be fun and rewarding, but before you get started, it's worth making sure ypu have a command of the fundamentals. In this video, we'll look at the wide range of technologies that make up what we call HTML5, from the actual HTML markup elements you'll use most commonly, such as Canvas and Audio, to the use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) 3 for styling markup elements, and of course the all-important javascript that provides the ability to express the functional (pardon the pun) aspects of your game. We'll also discuss alternatives to canvas for generating game elements, including SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), as well as when using plain old HTML may make sense.
