Well hello there, my name is Stephen and I have been designing for more than 5 years now. During this time I have found ways to make the most complex designs with the easiest methods and thanks to skillshare I will be teaching all of that here.

This class is for beginners in graphic design and I am going to be teaching you from a beginner's perspective in other words I will be putting myself in your shoes so that I don't skip any fundamental steps a beginner might not understand. If you have been designing this class will be useful to you too because I have new tricks to show you.

What you need for this class

You will need a computer and adobe illustrator. I have also attached extra project files like a free icon pack for your designs.

Mastering the pen tool

The pen tool has a steep learning curve, which is quite unfortunate because it is single-handedly the most powerful tool in graphic design. But no need to worry the pen tool + Alt is all you need to eliminate all the complications of using the pen tool, it will be easier than cutting butter with a hot samurai sword.

How the class will progress after you master the pen tool

1) Gathering inspiration - as a beginner, it's harder to come up with designs on the fly so you will need some inspiration. Gathering inspiration is a common practice in the design world so don't hesitate to take a peek at your fellow designer's past work on the internet.

2) Shapes - designing is easier and faster when split into segments. So usually designers start with making shapes of your design before anything, it's like building the foundation of a house, and everything else will come on top of it.

3) Text - after your foundation is built (which is shapes in our case) now it's time to build the rest of the house. Text is the next step. Here we will position and write all needed statements on our design.

4)Colour - this is my favourite part of designing. Colour brings life to your designs, in this lesson we are going to be working with solid and gradient colours only. In the later lessons, we are going even deeper.
