All designers are information designers! The world is full of information and it’s a designer’s job to make sense of it, organize it, and help others understand it in a more accessible and enjoyable way. The essential skills used to organize and visualize information are extremely universal and can be implemented across ALL fields of design to improve the way we understand the world.

In this class, I'll teach you skills to become a better designer and visual storyteller. You'll learn how to: 

• Give form to content
• Use imagery to tell a story
• Practice empathy for users
• Create a well-rounded personal project for your design portfolio

You will practice your information design skills by:

• Turning research into sketches, using complex problem solving skills
• Building a concise group of information designs, using a visual system of graphics, color, symbols, typography, charts, etc.
• Designing a web page and social media post design in a data-driven campaign project that gives you a taste of how you can use your skills in the real world
• Working in Figma for graphic and web design, using new technical skills and design processes
