As someone who has been creating and teaching art for decades, Jen Dixon believes that every project is an opportunity to learn something new.
In this class—recorded using Zoom on 18 May 2021 and featuring participation from the Skillshare community—she turns a simple landscape painting into a chance to learn about colour mixing, core watercolour techniques, composition and shape, and so much more.

In just an hour, you’ll learn how to:

• Find values in a reference photo to help you translate it to a more abstract painting
• Use quick sketching to better understand the shapes you’re trying to recreate
• Intuitively mix any colour you need from a limited palette
• Create a loose and playful painting with a wet-on-wet technique

Great for beginners and more experienced painters who want a relaxing practice exercise, you’ll walk away with a beautiful landscape painting and some new skills to carry into all of your watercolour work moving forward.
