Leaves are a classic recognizable shape for artists. Their beauty lies not only in their gentle curves and long lines, but in that many shapes can be classified as a “leaf shape”.  In today’s class we’ll paint a journal page of 10 leaf images, each with a unique pattern. We’ll focus on painting the shape of the leaf and then enhancing it with simple patterns. From this initial page, artists can refer back to the journal page to use patterns in future work. Class is geared towards beginner painters as we’ll focus on making smooth, repetitive shapes, followed by wet on dry patterns.
