This is a short yet rewarding food sketching class, designed for beginners but fun for all levels. Fried egg is the first thing to learn while starting cooking. It is simple to cook and to paint as well.
The sketching part is very quick, and one can have fun to draw a background with any design. If you plan to hang this painting in you kitchen you may want to draw and color it according to the furnishing or decoration. I kept it very simple, with a plain color. We will pay particular attention to indicate highlights and shadows, to allow the observer guess depth and irregularities. Shadows will be achieved by layering several washes of colors in an increasing color concentration. The list of materials is covered in the second lesson. It is very simple. Normal watercolor paper (I used a A4 cellulose 300gsm Canson paper) Pencil and eraser Basic watercolor palette (I used green, orange, red, blue and burnt sienna) Water and a paper napkin or kitchen paper Two brushes of different size. I used a 6 and a 14
