Hi my name is Eugenia and I’m here with another class. Today I’m going to be sharing with you my go to colour palette and mixtures in order to create the perfect golden brown bread. I know I’ve shared something similar before on my realistic pastry class. But since I was using my koi palette back then, the colours have a slightly different result.
I’ll be using my Holbein paints and a couple of Winsor and Newton for today and I’ll also be showing you how I apply these colours to a couple of bread paintings. We are going to paint 3 types of breads in this class; a dinner roll, plain bagel and also a Japanese custard bun. I’ll be showing you in detail how I paint the dinner roll and also the bagel as in my usual classes but as for the custard bun, I’ll be turning this into a speed paint, which you can use to reference for your own paintings while applying the techniques and colours learnt in the previous bread lessons. I will be showing you how I draw the 3 breads as well but for those of you who would like to trace them out, I do have an outline that you can download from the resources section. I will also link some reference images, which I used very roughly. When I use reference images like these, I only take the very rough essence of the object so I won't be referring to the pictures in the lessons, but I think that it's always a good idea have an image of it in mind.
