In this Skillshare class you’ll create a variety of textural prints using common everyday objects. We will be using the Gelli Plate, so make sure you have one before starting this project. You can find them HERE in a variety of sizes. I have the 8x10 but smaller is fine too!
You will be creating what’s called a “Monotype,” which is essentially a print of one or a unique impression. This at home printmaking process is green and doesn't require much space or supplies like traditional printmaking--which often uses harsh chemicals and expensive equipment like a printing press. With the Gelli plate process you simply need the gelli plate, some acrylic paint, paint brushes, a brayer, textural objects and printing paper. It’s so easy and a great technique for anyone looking for a creative and painterly expression. Textural prints can be great components to mixed media processes, linocut printmaking and so much more.
