In this Skillshare class you will learn the basics of 2D frame-by-frame animation and animation ingeneral. Classes will cover the fundamental ideas of animation including key topics such as framerates and navigating the software we will be using; Adobe Animate CC!


As the lessons progress, we will delve further into techniques that are used to create 2D animations, including extreme drawings, breakdown drawings and inbetweening. You will learn what these terms mean, and how these steps can be used and manipulated to create exciting and unique animations using your own characters!


 


For your class project, we will work on a short 2-3 second animation of your own original charactersmiling and giving you a wave. Through doing this, we will cover all of the basics you need to knowto get started on your very own animations!


This class is geared towards illustrators and designers with little to no experience with animation who are interested in getting into 2D animation and turning their illustrated characters into living,
breathing creations! It will also serve as a great refresher for those with some prior animation experience who are looking to brush up on their fundamental skills.


Very little prior knowledge or experience is required, however, some recommended skills are:
- Ability to illustrate characters
- Experience drawing digitally
