This Chic Brushes to Use and Sell class is suitable for designers with some knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and who want to learn additional techniques, though basic brush construction is reinforced. Overview: 

Lesson 1 

In Lesson 1 we will talk about finding content for your brush set and how to set up your workspace in Adobe Illustrator.

Lesson 2

This unit focuses on drawing initial shapes for the brushes we will be creating, an overview on how to create them, and how to adjust variables and stay organized.  Brushes will be developed in this lesson to help review construction.

Lesson 3

You will now get the opportunity to explore the live paint options in Illustrator to help make alternately white filled brushes. You will see in later lessons why this is so important.

Lesson 4

The full theory behind compound paths is explained in this lesson. You will learn what pitfalls to avoid and you will learn many troubleshooting techniques.

 Lesson 5

We explore finalizing additional brushes with alternate methods that ensure brushes line up where needed.

Lesson 6

In this lesson, we will construct artwork with the brush set that shows us if we need to change any of the settings. This is where you see the effect different settings have had on the brush behavior and make any adjustments necessary.

Lesson 7

In this lesson, we will lay out artwork with the brush set that can be used for placement prints or for a pattern swatch. This is where you adjust and tweak the different settings and make any fine-tuning adjustments.

Lesson 8

In this lesson, we wrap up all the loose ends, and we discuss what needs to be done moving forward in preparing our brush set for sale. We will also create a few mockups for fun!
