Digital Mock-ups are a great way to show your clients how your art will look on their products. It's also a valuable design tool. I wanted to create this course because I've been making mockups for years and would have loved to find a class like it when I first started making mockups -- a concise course geared specifically towards putting art and patterns on a variety of different products.
In this class, you'll learn everything you need to know about mocking up flat surfaces -- you'll learn how to set up layers, create and use layer masks and how to distort the art so it looks 3D. Future classes will build upon these skills with more advanced (but easy!) techniques. Class 2 will focus on mocking up curved surfaces. Class 3 will be an introduction to Smart Objects -- a powerful tool for creating multi-use mockups -- so you can do your editing once and then just drop in new art effortlessly again and again. Class 4 will cover how to mockup shiny surfaces and transparent items. This class is perfect for surface/pattern designers, graphic designers and entrepreneurs. You'll need to have a working knowledge of Photoshop, but the instructions are presented very clearly so you shouldn't have any trouble following along. You can use this series as a resource to come back to again and again. So if today you need to mockup a gift bag, but find you need to mockup a pillow or a mug down the road, you can come back and brush up on those techniques whenever you need them.
