In this class you will create an illustrative vector pattern of birds, butterflies and flowers in Adobe Illustrator. To take this class you should have a basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator.

Join me as I take you through my creative process of creating a vector pattern using my coloured pencil sketches step by step. 

Course Components

• We will talk about how your pattern will be used.
• Gathering reference materials.
• Sketching your motifs on paper using the reference materials. I use coloured pencils to establish as much detail and colour as possible, which will help me redraw my work in Illustrator.
• Tracing your drawings using the pen and pencil tools in Illustrator.
• Creating a repeat using your vector motifs.
• Changing the colours of your pattern to achieve a different look.
