Whether you're a brand new artist or an old hand with a pencil, sketching is the best method to improve your artwork and help you develop your artistic style. But how do you move beyond your goofy first tries to useful sketches you can later turn into finished pieces of art?

In this class I demonstrate several simple exercises to help you improve your sketching skills, such as timed exercises, blind contour, gesture drawings, and a few more that don't have nifty names but help strengthen those finger muscles!

There's no magic bullet to make you a better artist. However if you cringe ever time you open your sketchbook or avoid it altogether, working with these exercises will help you get out of your fear box and learn how to think with your hands.
