This course introduces basic fire safety principles and practices. The course covers various topics, from the basics of how fires start and grow to managing and controlling fires. You will learn about the fire tetrahedron, detectors (smoke, heat, and flame detectors), suppression systems (extinguishers, sprinklers, hydrants, standpipes, firewalls, and fire doors), and administrative fire control measures (inspection and maintenance, training and education, emergency procedures). You will also understand the basic principles involved in evacuations and the importance of inspecting fire safety systems and devices. Organizational managers, supervisors, owners, safety committee members and safety-conscious employees can benefit from taking this course.
