Description
This course helps you to look at your organizational value chain holistically to identify waste elimination or reduction opportunities by using value stream mapping (VSM) as a tool.
The course is divided into four sections viz Introduction to mapping techniques and needs for a holistic approach to identifying opportunities at the big picture perspective, application areas of VSM. The second section provides a brief about current state mapping, familiarization of VSM symbols, and practical, simple 12 step process of drawing current state mapping with useful insights in each step from my client experiences.
The third section deals with the method of identifying opportunities in the current state mapping. The fourth section deals with future state mapping and drafting action plans. Besides, I had given a brief idea of time elements viz cycle time, lead time, takt time, and throughput time for better clarity to link with VSM opportunities.
To ease your implementation, I have given compatible formats wherever possible.
This course is meant for business owners, Plant heads, Functional managers, Lean practitioners, Industrial and process engineering professionals of small, medium scale organizations of any industry background.
At the end of the course, you will be able to re-look at your organizational value chain holistically and able to identify the potential waste in the system using Value Stream Mapping Tool.
