As well as the regular 12 diatonic keys, you’ll also find 12 Jazz Minor and 12 Harmonic Minor keys for when you fancy going into some seriously fruity chord territory! For the truly adventurous, there’s even a preset full of altered chords for you to play around with and get experimental.

Although perfectly suited to Lofi Hip Hop, a lot of the included chords are also commonly used in other genres including Pop, Future Bass, Trap, Downtempo and, well, pretty much anything you can think of!

The 50 Cthulhu Presets can be categorized as follows:

Diatonics: All 12 diatonic keys featuring 7th, 9th, Secondary Dominants and Diminished chords in multiple inversions.

Progressions: A series of progressions to get the ideas flowing including standard Jazz II-V-I’s, I-VI-II-V’s, I-VI-IV-V’s and more.

Jazz Minor: Set a moody tone with these lush Jazz Minor chords covering all 12 keys.

Harmonic Minor: A very exotic sounding key full of tense and rich chords covering all 12 keys.

Free Jazz Altered Chords: We haven’t key-labelled any of these, just added some of our favourite altered chords in a single preset and included some II-V-I’s for when you want to step away from the regular. If you want to get further into altered chords, this is a good place to start!

Mixtape Mixup: The Wild West of chords, we started things off by adding a bunch of great-sounding chords and let Cthulhu fill in the blanks to cover the full range of the keyboard!
