Binary Viewer v5.15.5.26 (+ Portable) | 5.94 Mb

Windows systems typically contain many types of files, but you can only view some formats. If you want to open any file format saved on your computer, then Binary Viewer will prove a handy utility. The program displays file contents in text, octal, decimal, hexadecimal and binary formats, allowing you to view files you would not otherwise open with standard viewers or editors.

Features:
Displays binary data in multiple formats
Accepts selecting, copying and saving
Can open a whole physical drive
Handles very large file sizes
Can display information in Alternate Data Streams
Flexible search function
Current version supports four languages
Using Binary Viewer

After a smooth installation process, Binary Viewer welcomed us into an intuitive interface that was user friendly. We could drag and drop files onto the main interface or use the file browser to open them. The two-column display made it easy to view the same content in different formats. For example, we could simultaneously view a file in both text and hexadecimal formats.

We used Binary Viewer to determine hexadecimal values and addresses as well as equivalent ASCII and Big or Little Endian values. The program also displayed various details about respective files, including their sizes, creation dates, modification dates, dates of last access, revision numbers and subjects. On computers with multiple users, you can also determine the users who saved the files. The search facility allowed us to search for either text within files or their binary sequences. The viewer graphically displays data as either visualizer or histogram, and it supports files of up to 16TB.

The program let us adjust its appearance to suit our preferences by changing font properties and viewing mode. Other functions we could perform included jumping to specific offsets, setting bookmarks, opening physical drives and copying text. The viewer also gave us quick access to color customization options, character map and calculator. Binary Viewer integrates file encryption and decryption utilities in addition to Base64 encode and decode functions.
