Fast-paced one-minute intervals; Gin Miller alternates concise toning segments with vigorous aerobics. Constantly changing with lots of variety, there’s just no time to be bored. The aerobic segments include leaps, propulsions, power squats and straddle jumps (i.e. jumping from a straddle to the top of the bench). Solid toning sections feature classic floor and dumbbell/rubber tubing routines. For added motivation, there’s a live band playing super-energetic jazz/funk/African music. Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells or an X-ertube.

The video classic that originally ignited the step aerobics phenomenon (and is still a solid, ultra-high-tech-looking workout even today). With MTV-style photography and great music plus a futuristic industrial set, this is a uniquely engaging program. There’s even a live band playing high-energy, funky/African music. Despite the quick video cuts, it’s easy to follow. The moves are non-dancy, and Gin uses both hand and verbal cues to always tell you what’s coming. She starts with simple marches, then progresses to slightly more complex knee lifts, kicks, lunges and jacks. .
