Boring Sans, designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, is a variable superfamily with a weirdness axis: it allows designers to explore a full range of variations on sans serif design, from a basic lemming-like squiggly to an overwhelming, chunky heavy weight that raises eyebrows on social media. Typographically, it works like this: take your regular typeface, choose its weight and its weirdness level, from A (none, boring typeface) to C (maximum weirdness). Variable font technology allows the full range of design options available to typeface designers to be explored.
