RX100 Font

RX100 is a monospaced sans serif font. Its letterforms are quite condensed, even for a fixed-width typeface. Because of its narrow width, the capital letters look particularly compressed, offering an interesting look in mixed-case text. RX100’s ascenders are quite tall; they really reach over top of the capitals. The same is true for the font’s diacritical marks: they are very large and will not be overlooked in a text – nor is one diacritical mark likely to be confused for another.

This helps ease character recognition, making the typeface a good choice for rendering computer code, or in correspondence that is supposed to look typewritten (a condensed monospace sans serif of this sort automatically calls typewriter faces of the 1970s and 1980s to mind, as those machines were becoming electrified and increasingly sophisticated). RX100’s letterforms features large ink traps to help keep their color in small text even. Interestingly, the font offers 22 alternate uppercase, lowercase, and numeral glyphs, which can be substituted in via OpenType features. The default ‘a’ is double-storied, and the default ‘g’ is single-storied; however, there is a double-storey ‘g’ available as an alternate. RX100 includes 10 different arrows in its character set, too.
