In those years , photographer Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky Miheylovich (1863-1944) took a trip to the Russian Empire with the support of Tsar Nicholas II. He used a specialized camera to capture the three black and white images in very quick succession, using red, green and blue filters, and then re-combining them with filters, to show the true color images. High image quality combined with bright colors, prevents believing that they were made ??100 years ago. In 1948, the original glass plates with lots of color pictures were bought by the Library of Congress.
