Each Themekit contains a set of matching elements such as backgrounds, overlays, lower thirds and animated wipes in both SD and HD resolutions. This allows producers and designers to instantly create a thematic look for a program, while still providing enough variety and customization for a unique, signature style that viewers will identify with, recognize and remember.

Each Super Set contains a unique combination of some of the elements described below. Which elements are included depends on the design and purpose of each particular set.

  • Animated BackgroundsThese are full screen background animations that are great for title sequences, text templates and DVD menus.
    • Animated Template Background: This is a special type of animated background which is designed with a specific area for text, usually in the center portion of the graphic. This area has been made more subtle with less motion and more subdued color so that text will stand out well on it.
    • Animated Base Background: This is a specific style of animated background designed to be simpler and more subtle -- an animated base for other content in your composition. A typical base background has less motion, fewer elements and more subtle colors than a higher impact animated background designed to stand on its own.
    • Animated Tunnel Background: This is a specific style of animated background with a motion which moves the viewer forward in one direction through the seamlessly looping scene. Tunnel backgrounds can be 3D realistic scenes or abstract journeys into the unknown.
    • Animated Cause for Pause Background: This is a specific style of animated background with multiple sections and a motion which shifts the viewer forward quickly from section to section of the seamlessly looping scene. The camera pauses in several designated spots to allow the user to overlay text and video information for the viewer to read and watch.
  • Animated OverlaysAnimated overlays are full screen animations with alpha channel transparency that serve as animated frames and accents for your video clips.
  • Animated Lower Third:Animated lower thirds are animated elements using alpha channel transparency that commonly serve as anchoring elements for text, nameplates and logos at the bottom of the screen. The text that appears on a lower third typically identifies something about the corresponding video, such as the name of the onscreen talking head or information about the video
  • Animated Mini Third/Corner Third:These elements are a specific smaller version of the lower third animation designed to be used under logo bugs or text in the lower corners of the screen.
  • Swipes

These are animated wipes with matching sound effects that help make the switch from one scene to another more interesting. Designed to work without a plug-in on any editing system that supports overlays, these easy-to-use wipes are as unique as they are useful.

    1. Full Screen Swipes: In this type of Swipes file, there are several frames in the middle of the transition that are full screen which should be directly over your edit on the time-line so that when the animation plays, the cut is completely hidden.

    2. Double Alpha Swipes: A Double Alpha Swipe is a full color transition that does not cover the screen fully at any point in the animation, but instead uses an additional animation known as a Traveling Matte to transition the video. With a Double Alpha Swipe, at some point Clip A, Clip B, and the Swipe Animation are all seen on the screen at the same time.

  • Sound FX:These are included for use with the Swipes, but you may find additional uses. You could, for example, use one of these Sound FX files with a Motion Design Element to add emphasis to a text reveal.
  • Transitional Wipes:These wipes are animated grayscale mattes -- matching the style of the set — which allow you to build your own textured transitions using your software's matte key effects.
  • MDE (Motion Design Element):Motion Design Elements are animated graphic elements with alpha channels. MDEs come in a variety of styles such as seamlessly looping frames, revealers that animate in and out, or looping graphic elements that can be placed anywhere on the screen to highlight text or logos. They are generally used to draw the viewer's attention to a specific part of the screen. These elements are large enough to be positioned and scaled anywhere on the canvas.
    • Text MDE: This is a specific type of MDE which contains animated words or phrases that match the subject matter of the set. For example a Christmas-themed set might contain a text MDE which animates the words Merry Christmas across the screen.
    • Revealer: A revealer is a motion design element that comes on-screen, covers a predefined area and then animates off-screen to reveal something underneath like a logo or text. It is not a seamlessly loopable animation like most MDEs.
    • Logo Revealers: are specifically designed to be placed over logos to reveal them as the animation plays.
    • Overlay Revealers: are a special form of revealer MDE that animates an overlay graphic on and off screen, making a more seamless transition between overlay and background graphics. They are accompanied by a matching Overlay Revealer Matte which is used to make the transition on and off screen easier.
    • Line Items: Line Items are a specific style of MDE containing a series of animated lines or other small elements in a linear format as the dominating element of the graphic. They can be used alone to highlight a line of text or in combination to frame an image with active elements.
    • Frames:Animated Frames are a specific type of MDE designed to frame a freestanding image, which is then usually placed on top of a second background image. They are accompanied by a static Frame Matte which masks everything outside the center area of the frame, allowing you to place Frame, Frame Matte and image on top of a background cleanly and easily.
  • Animated Mattes:These greyscale mattes allow you to further customize the look of each set. Using your editor and the matte key or track matte effect, you can create overlays, lower thirds and wipes from your own image sources. Mattes do not need an alpha channel, as they are only gray-scale video.
    • Overlay Matte: This is a type of animated matte which is based on the shape and motion of the matching Overlay animation. It allows you to create new overlay elements using the same basic shape and animated edges as the existing overlay but with your own custom graphics filling the overlay.
    • Lower Third Matte: This is a type of animated matte which is based on the shape and motion of the matching Lower Third animation. It allows you to create new lower third elements using the same basic shape and animated edges as the existing lower third, but using your own custom graphics to fill the shape.
    • Mini Third/Corner Third Matte: This is a type of animated matte which is based on the shape and motion of the matching mini third/corner third animation. It allows you to create new mini third/corner third elements using the same basic shape and animated edges as the existing mini third/corner third, but using your own custom graphics to fill the shape.
  • Coordinated Juice Drops:Juice Drops are print resolution, fully customizable graphics delivered as layered Photoshop files. They can be used to create coordinating printed collateral for your project such as DVD faces and cases, advertising fliers, posters and/or billboards
