Reiki is antient healing art rediscovered again in Japan in late 19th century. Mikao Usui was a member of samurai cast in Japan, he was interested in many things and one day after his zen meditation he stumbled from the mountain and cut himself severely. Then he activated reiki by clapping his palms and stopped his bleeding in seconds. From then, nothing was same. Firstly, his clan prohibited Usui to teach Reiki only to members of their clan, later he said no and moved on to teach others and share gift he got. His very first students did not want to share Reiki with forers. Few years later, Hawai Takata was very first women and westerner (at least partially) who got attuned to master and teacher degree of old Usui system.My teacher was Ole Gabrielsen and he passed down to me Original Reiki, which he thinks is the closest to very first Original Reiki system Usui got himself.Reiki (jap. 霊気 oder in Katakana レイキ, Aussprache /⁠ɺɛɪki⁠/ oder /⁠ɺeːki⁠/, dt. etwa „spirituelle/geis Lebensene“) ist ein Kunstwort, das von Usui Mikao aus der sinojapanischen Aussprache rei des Schriftzeichens 霊 („Geist“, „Seele“) und ki (dem chinesischen Qi – Lebensene) gebildet wurde und in der Regel in westlichen Publikationen als „universelle oder universale Lebensene“ ubersetzt wird. There is no proof of the effectiveness of reiki therapy compared to placebo. Studies reporting positive effects have had methodological flaws.
