So, welcome to this little self-care Sketchbook Practise video :O)  We'll be using simple floral shapes and pen work with watercolour and Brusho, to create a pretty wildflower garden.

Using a limited palette helps keep things simple, and it's amazing how many colour combinations and values can be created out of, essentially, just 2 colours - in this case, green and blue!

A small sketchbook takes any 'blank canvas' paralysis away! and it's a great way of gaining confidence with your art. It can become an invaluable source of inspiration for larger works, plus it offers a space where you can experiment and play. It's also got the added advantage of being accessible time-wise! It's sometimes a challenge to find time for ourselves, with the 'push-me-pull-you' demands of daily life... am I right?!!

So, although I created this class with beginners in mind, I'm hoping it may prompt the more experienced artists amongst you to take a breather and play... or just get a cup of tea and view :O)

I hope this inspires you to carve out time for yourself, if not on a daily basis, at least a few times a week. In order to have energy for others, we need to take care of ourselves first. We are not often taught this growing up, and indeed society has some very damaging messages surrounding this to the contrary... which can leave us feeling more and more removed from our true selves... up in our heads, rather than feeling grounded in our bodies.
