The Revit for Architectural Design - Essentials course was designed for construction industry professionals who are involved in the architectural design of buildings. We are going to start with an introduction of Revit, covering its graphic user interface, and how to view an existing model. Then we are going to learn how to create a new project and to position it in the 3D space. We are going to show how to place toposolids to model the ground and the site. Next, we are going to demonstrate how to create model elements, such as walls, doors, windows, floors, columns, ceilings, roofs, stairs and ramps. These are the building blocks for creating a building model. We are then going to learn how to split the building model into rooms and areas. We are going to develop views of the model that include 3D views, 2D views, sections, camera views, and walkthroughs. In addition, we are going to explain how to add annotations such as text and dimensions, and tags to the elements. We are going to show how to place details to enrich the construction documentation. Subsequently, we are going to place the views on sheets so as to print them. A highly useful feature in building information models that we are going to present is the creation of schedules and quantity tables. The course is highly practical. Lectures are used to demonstrate the usage of the program. During the course trainees will develop their own building information model, which is an excellent way to demonstrate their expertise.
