Ever see someone’s jacket covered in pins and wish your design could be there too? Designing enamel pins may seem intimidating but once you know the dos and don’ts of designing them, it’s actually pretty simple. You don’t even have to have experience with design software!
In this class, I’m going to walk you through designing a pin and share everything I wish I knew when I started and everything I’ve learned from making four pins of my own so that you can avoid the headaches I had to work through. Equipment: I recommend that you use a program like Procreate, Photoshop, or Illustrator to create your design but you can also use paper and your favorite drawing tools. We’ll start by going over the different things you have to think about when you start your design, the different tools you can use to create your design and what it looks like to start with a hand-drawn design. Next, we’ll cover the decisions you have to make as you translate your design into an enamel pin. From there, we’ll cover manufacturers and how to decide which is the best company for YOU to work with. Finally, in the bonus lesson, we’ll talk about designing the backing card for your pin to finish your new pin’s presentation.
