In this class you will create a fun leopard pattern that you can use in your print on demand shops or for your personal projects. We will also create different backgrounds for this pattern to make it more interesting. To take this class you should have a basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator, but we do review Pen Tool basics in the third video.


Join me as I take you through my step-by-step creative process of making this fun vector pattern.


 


Course Components


 





  • Overview of the course



  • Gathering reference materials and sketching the motifs by hand (you also have access to a JPG of pre-drawn motifs in the class resources that you can use for your project).



  • Using the Pen Too to trace your drawing in Illustrator.



  • Creating a repeat using your vector motifs.



  • Changing the colours of your pattern and creating gradient backgrounds to achieve different looks.




 


Materials you'll need for this course:


 





  • Pencil and eraser



  • Drawing pad, or paper



  • Camera, phone or scanner



  • Adobe Illustrator
