Have you ever fallen asleep during an online meeting or presentation? You are not alone. Why are online presentations often so boring that you feel like closing your eyes just after a few minutes? That is what I have been thinking about too, and that is why I have made a course about what to do to stand out online. What you should do to make your listeners feel energised after your presentations and not have their energy sucked out of them. A lot of people just copy what they do in a meeting room or class room, and do the same thing when giving a presentation or a course online. BAD IDEA! The online room is a different room, so we have to prepare for sharing our message in that specific room. So, what to do? First of all, prepare well! Prepare your content and all the tech issues, rehearse like in a live presentation, standing up and looking into your camera. People’s attention span is also very short, so breaking up our content is VERY important, so add some interactions in there, like a poll or a WordCloud. Also remember to vary the way you present. Vary your slides (if using any), vary your language - share those stories of yours and vary the use of your voice. Monotony is a great way to get that snoring going. Please join me on my journey to eliminate all the boring presentations out there! ???
